Beethoven's 9th Symphony & Jazz in the Great Festival Hall
All humans become sisters & brothers

L. v. BEETHOVEN · Piano Concerto No. 1 goes Jazz, C major, op.15
L. v. BEETHOVEN · Symphony No. 9, D minor, op. 125

The concert "Beethoven's 9th Symphony & Jazz" in the Great Festival Hall is intended to set an example for a strong and humane Europe.
Because Beethoven's "Ninth", whose main theme of the last movement is the official anthem of the European Community, is one of the most popular works of classical music. In addition, Friedrich Schiller's “Ode to Joy” is sung worldwide and stands for peace, joy, friendship and boundless brotherhood and sisterhood.
People from 145 nations live in the city of Salzburg. The Salzburg Philharmonic is also made up of musicians from over 30 nations. Thus, a musical sign for a strong togetherness is set, in the name of Ludwig van Beethoven and Friedrich Schiller.

Jazz pianist Chris Gall interprets Ludwig van Beethoven's first piano concert in the Großer Festspielhaus

Beethoven was a brilliant improvisation artist on the piano and is therefore considered a pioneer of jazz in specialist circles.
Hardly any German pianist has expanded the style boundaries of jazz so consistently and originally in recent years as Munich-based Chris Gall. He thrilled audiences with jazz, indie rock and world music from the jazz festival in Montreux to the Jazz Baltica, at the Stuttgart Jazz Open and in the Vienna Konzerthaus. In Salzburg, he will perform Beethoven's 1st piano concerto in a surprising interpretation.
