Family concert · The Vltava
Gentle waves and wild rapids

With incomparably striking music, Bedřich Smetana tells the story of this longest river in the Czech Republic in his symphonic poem. The musical journey begins at the springs, which rattle audibly in the flutes. Past a forest hunt with typical horn motifs, a hearty country wedding, the moonlight shimmering nymphs and the raging wild rapids, the river finally reaches Prague.

In the version of the children's festival, the Philharmonie Salzburg and the conductor Elisabeth Fuchs meet two drops of water. The two are good friends and always play together in the river. One comes from the Warm Moldau (origin in the Bohemian Forest), the other from the cold Moldau (origin in the Bavarian Forest). Suddenly, a stressed out tourist, Dr. Heinz-Rüdiger Hungermann, on. He has booked a river cruise and competition with various difficult tasks and adventures, including a bright red paddle boat. Hopefully, with the help of warm droplets and cold droplets, he wins the golden Moldau crown!

Between the concerts, the little visitors have the opportunity to try out all orchestral instruments in children's sizes. Each child gets a CD with the Moldau tunes, and free drumsticks for drums learning, home. In addition, funny supporting program, with orchestral instruments to try out, this weekend.
