Program change: Mendelssohn's “Italian” symphony
Séjournés marimba concert

E. SÉJOURNÉ · Concerto for marimba & orchestra
Program change: F. MENDELSSOHN BARTHOLDY · Symphony No. 4, "Italian"

Emmanuel Séjourné's “Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra” is one of the most popular ever written for this instrument. His music, which is rhythmic, romantic and energetic at the same time, draws as much from western classical music as it does from popular culture. At the marimba you will experience Kiril Stoyanov, who has already been celebrated in many concerts by the Salzburg Philharmonic.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions on stage, we have to change the program for this concert. We are sorry to announce that we cannot play the original program with Gustav Mahler's 1st Symphony.
Instead of Mahler's 1st Symphony, the Salzburg Philharmonic will play Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's 4th Symphony.
