High above the valley, at over 2,000 meters above sea level, the Schlossalm in Bad Hofgastein is transformed into an extraordinary open-air concert venue. In this special atmosphere, the audience can expect a Romantic program that opens with the dramatic timbres of Wagner's Tannhäuser Overture and closes with the cheerful sounds of Brahms' Second Symphony—the most lighthearted of his four symphonies. A special highlight of the concert evening will be the performance of Camille Saint-Saëns' Introduction et Rondo capriccioso by the young, up-and-coming solo violinist Erik Maier. At the annual Berg:Klassik, the clear mountain air meets great symphonic soundscapes: an experience that impressively combines nature and music.
