– Ludwig van Beethoven
L. v. BEETHOVEN · Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major, Op. 61
L. v. BEETHOVEN · Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92
As every year, the Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra dedicates November to the Salzburg Hospice Movement, with which it has a long-standing partnership. This time, the charity concert is dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven, whose violin concerto opens the evening.
Together with German-Italian violinist Chiara Sannicandro, conductor Elisabeth Fuchs and her orchestra will perform this masterpiece, premiered in 1806, with great intensity and radiance. This will be followed by Beethoven's 7th Symphony, a work of rousing energy and also his greatest success during his lifetime.
