The freshness of his composition, the musical quality of the arabesques and the barrels as well as the poetic expression are signs of Frédéric Chopin's genius.
Great joy, a thrilling swing and mechanical drive reign in the suite "Le Tombeau de Couperin" written by Maurice Ravel 100 years ago. The highly sensitive musical impressionist dedicated this work to a friend who had died in the First World War. The second part of the evening belongs to Mozart's third-to-last symphony, which was never heard in his lifetime: weighty, dramatic, slow and unusual.
The young conductor Tobias Wögerer will be on the podium for this subscription concert.
