How can the magic of classical music reach the young audience? How can children and teenagers be inspired by classical music?

Adults receive music differently than young people. The young audience does not want to sit and listen for a long time quietly and devoutly. Young people are curious and would like to participate. Young people would like to be a part of the big picture. So the young audience needs a different starting point than adults.

Find new starting points to make you curious about more!

The children's festival was initiated by Elisabeth Fuchs 2007 precisely for this purpose. Programmed are formats and projects that make curious about classical music.

“Education formats have played a major role in my work, especially in the last ten years. I initiated the children's festival - symphonic concerts with action and interaction - the apprentice concerts in the Great Festival Hall and the symphonic talk concerts. " (Elisabeth Fox)

Numerous studies examining the positive aspects and effects of classical music in the emotional and social area are available. The principal conductor of the Philharmonie Salzburg Elisabeth Fuchs contributes with her ideas and various formats a valuable contribution in the field of music education. Together with the orchestra of the Philharmonie Salzburg, she has made it her mission to find new starting points to make you curious about more!

"The true fascination unfolds music only in the concertante magic of the moment." (Music educator Hans-Christian Schmidt-Banse)

Children Festival

Since its inception, the Children's Festival has been dedicated to 2007, the symphonic music education program for families with children from the age of 3 to 12 years. Since the beginning, the orchestra of the Philharmonie Salzburg accompanies the children's festival and enables children, young people and families to experience classical music in the form of concerts.

family concerts

The format of the family concerts is aimed at children and adults. Attending a family concert is a fun, exciting, harmonious and interesting experience for large and small audiences. Together with their parents, grandparents and friends, children experience the magic of classical music live. At the family concerts, children are not only allowed to move, they are even asked to do so! The audience is addressed directly and sometimes small and large listeners even become actors on the stage.

Symphonic Talk's

The symphonic talks are intended as a continuation of the family concerts for an audience of 12 years and over. This format offers a varied mix of classical music and exciting dialogues between chief conductor Elisabeth Fuchs and various guests on stage. We deliberately start the concerts at 18.15 p.m. in the large university auditorium, the duration is limited to 75 minutes without a break.

In February there are now several possibilities to experience a family concert and a symphonic talk concert, the children's festival!
