"Advent is a time when you have time to think about what is worth taking time for" (Quote from Gudrun Kropp)

Yes, that's exactly what we could do together! Spend a "rewarding" time in the Advent season with wonderful music played by the Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra in contemplative places! We have put together a varied program for you for this Advent season.

  • Would you like to listen to Michael Haydn's Christmas Oratorio together with the Michael Haydn Choir and our conductor and also sing along yourself? Then we will see you on one of the 4 dates (30.11/1.12./14.12./15.12.) in the pilgrimage church Maria im Mösl in Arnsdorf for the 200th anniversary of the Silent Night Christmas Oratorio

In the Silent Night parish of Arnsdorf, where Franz Xaver Gruber, the composer of the world-famous song, worked as a teacher, our chief conductor Elisabeth Fuchs will rehearse selected chorales with the audience before the concert begins, in order to then experience an interactive togetherness in the concert!

  • Would you like to get into the Christmas spirit with us and the quartet Quadro Nuevo? Then come to the KUKO Kultur und Kongress Zentrum Rosenheim on December 3 and spend Christmas Nights with Quadro Nuevo Christmas music from all over the world.

Quadro Nuevo is known for its nostalgic, acoustic sound. The quartet makes its instruments vibrate just as much as the audience. Together with the Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra, all kinds of Christmas carols are reinterpreted, but spirited tangos are also performed.

On December 6, Santa Claus is coming to you and we are coming to the Europark! Santa Claus is sure to make a musical detour to Theaterplatz. Who knows, maybe he'll even play along with us? We are playing a benefit concert at 6 pm for the organization "Rettet das Kind" and are looking forward to seeing lots of little and big Santa Clauses.

  • Would you like to experience a Mexican Christmas together with your big and small family members at our family concert? Then see you on December 22nd and 23rd in the Great University Hall, Salzburg or on December 16th in Zell am See for the family concert: Mexican Christmas

A newly married couple prepares for their first Austrian-Mexican Christmas together. In addition to lively compositions by Mexican composers, the mariachi music so typical of Mexico can also be heard. A family concert full of colorfulness and festive cheer!

  • What do you think of experiencing a symphonic punch concert? And shake a leg to samba and salsa rhythms? This year's Christmas talk from our Symphonic Talk format is all about "Feliz Navidad" and "Concierto de Aranjuez".

On 22.12. guitarist Cecilio Perera and tenor Kirlianit Cortes-Galvez will accompany us. After the concert we will meet for a punch in the foyer and continue dancing. Salsa olé!

  • Would you like to combine a trip to the magical Salzburg winter wonderland of Bad Hofgastein with a visit to a Christmas concert? That would be an extraordinary combination!

On December 21, we will play a Christmas concert in Bad Hofgastein with music by Schubert, Bach, Marcello and, of course, our favorite carol: Silent Night, Holy Night.

  • And could you actually still be practicing your "Christmas song portfolio" for this year's Christmas celebrations at home? Then it would be best if you met up with Elisabeth Fuchs & friends and sang known and unknown Christmas carols with them in the Silent Night Parish in Arnsdorf on 5 dates (December 17, 19, 20 and 21).

There is also a short Franz Xaver Gruber tour of the Arnsdorf elementary school, where the composer of the song was a teacher. The crowning glory of the afternoon: we sing all six verses of "Silent Night - Holy Night" together in the Maria im Mösl pilgrimage church and then drink punch and children's punch.

These events are free of charge. Donations requested for the benefit of "Save the Child"

  • And if any of you are making a detour to our neighbors in Linz and happen to come across the Philharmonie, we'll be playing a pop Christmas concert at the Oberbank Donau Forum in Linz on December 11th with well-known Christmas catchy tunes and melodies from films.

everything is waiting

wait for what
but nobody knows
knows
what we are waiting for

that underneath everything
hidden
something is waiting
has always been waiting

something
unsaid
unspeakable

essential
