We are looking for music-loving children and young people aged 7 to 19 who would like to take part in 2 to 3 concert projects per year. Rehearsals take place in blocks. There is a more intensive rehearsal phase two weeks before each concert. Under the direction of conductor Elisabeth Fuchs, supervised by an experienced team of instructors, musical experience is gained and new friendships are made. The focus is on having fun and enjoying making music together, as well as getting to know professional rehearsal work.

Violin, viola, cello and double bass, flute, clarinet

General information about the Salzburg Children's & Youth Philharmonic Orchestra

Founded in 2022, the Children's & Youth Philharmonic Orchestra is aimed at music-loving children and young people aged 7 to 19 who want to gain their first orchestral experience and are already receiving instrumental lessons. The focus is on enjoying making music together and getting to know regular, professional rehearsal work. The program is diverse: a colorful mix of classical, rock, and pop. Professionally trained musicians with teaching experience Fuchs the young talents in preliminary rehearsals in smaller groups as well as in orchestra rehearsals and concerts under the direction of Elisabeth Fuchs . The Children's & Youth Philharmonic currently receives no public funding and is financed exclusively through donations, sponsors, admission fees, and contributions from participants.

Each concert season (September-June)

Summer concert

May/June:
Sat, June 27, 2026, 6:00–8:30 p.m., Viva Brasil
Large summer concert at the exhibition center, with rehearsals spread out over approximately eight weeks prior to the concert at the Haus der Philharmonie Salzburg, Nonntaler Hauptstr. 39c. Contribution toward expenses: €85 per child. Online registration .

Orchestra week

September:
Mon–Fri, September 7–11, 2026 · Orchestra week with final concert

spring concert
