General information about the Salzburg Children's & Youth Philharmonic Orchestra

Founded in 2022, the Salzburg Children's & Youth Philharmonic Orchestra is aimed at music-loving children and young people aged 7 to 18 who would like to gain their first orchestral experience and are already receiving instrumental lessons (privately or at music education institutions such as the Mozarteum or Musikum).

The focus is on having fun making music together and getting to know regular, professional rehearsals. The program is diverse: a colorful mix of classical, rock and pop. Professional musicians with pedagogical experience support the talented young musicians in their preliminary rehearsals in smaller groups as well as in the large orchestra rehearsals and concerts under the direction of Elisabeth Fuchs .

The Kinder- & Jugendphilharmonie does not currently receive any public funding and is financed exclusively by donations, sponsors, entrance fees and the contribution to expenses made by participants.

Each concert season (September-June)
three orchestra projects take place:

Summer concert

May/June: Summer concert in the Salzburgarena at the Messezentrum, together with renowned soloists and with rehearsals spread over 3 to 5 weeks before the concert.
