The Salzburg Children's & Youth Philharmonic is an orchestra founded by the Salzburg Philharmonic, the Children's Festival and conductor Elisabeth Fuchs in 2022. It is aimed at music-loving children and young people aged 7 to 18 who want to gain orchestral experience and receive instrumental lessons at the Mozarteum University, at the Musikum, in private lessons or at other music educational institutions.

The focus is on having fun and enjoying making music together, as well as getting to know professional rehearsals. The program is varied and a mix of classic, rock and pop.

Lecturers, mostly musicians from the Salzburg Philharmonic, support the children and young people in all instrument groups during pre-rehearsal in smaller music groups as well as in the large orchestra tutti rehearsals and concerts under the direction of Elisabeth Fuchs.

The Children & Youth Philharmonic is financed by donations, sponsors, entrance fees and the contribution towards expenses from participants. There are still no subsidies or sponsors for the Children's & Youth Philharmonic Salzburg. Hopefully that will change soon!

Per concert season (September-June)
three orchestra projects take place:

May/June: Summer concert in the Salzburg Arena at the exhibition center, together with well-known soloists and with rehearsals that take place 3 to 5 weeks before the concert.
