Children & Youth Philharmonic Salzburg
The Salzburg Children's & Youth Philharmonic, founded in 2022, is aimed at music-loving children and young people aged 7 to 18 who would like to gain their first orchestral experience and are already receiving instrumental lessons (privately or at music education institutions such as the Mozarteum or Musikum).
The focus is on having fun making music together and getting to know regular, professional rehearsals. The program is diverse: a colorful mix of classical, rock and pop. Pedagogically experienced professional musicians support the young talents during preliminary rehearsals in smaller groups as well as during large orchestral rehearsals and concerts under the direction of Elisabeth Fuchs.
The Children's & Youth Philharmonic currently receives no funding from public funds and is financed exclusively through donations, sponsors, entrance fees and contributions to expenses from contributors.
Three orchestral projects take place per concert season (September to June):
🎵 summer concert in May/June: summer concert in the Salzburgarena at the exhibition center, together with well-known soloists (with rehearsals that take place three to five weeks before the concert)
🎵 orchestra week in September (in the last week of vacation at the beginning of September in the city of Salzburg, all day Mon-Fri, 09:00 a.m. - 17:00 p.m. with final concert on Friday at 17:00 p.m.)
🎵 carnival concert in January/February: concert in the city of Salzburg (with rehearsals spread over three to five weeks before the concert)
