Schubert's Unfinished is one of the most frequently performed orchestral works in the world. In the two completed movements of the symphony, which is characterized by interplay, flowery waltzes rise from the darkest depths and a song-like character is juxtaposed with dramatic entries and general pauses. In its unconventional form, this work proves to be a magnificent and complete composition. The song-like element is continued when Katharina Gudmundsson sings Schubert's most beautiful and best-known songs, including the touching "Ave Maria", before the Symphony No. 5 is heard in the second part of the concert - an evening full of romantic emotion and depth.
