Constanze Quartet of the Philharmonie Salzburg

The musical paths of the four musicians of the Constanze Quartet from southern Europe were all to come together in the small, yet unique musical metropolis of Salzburg. The city where Mozart was born, with its unmistakable classical flair, became the ideal artistic breeding ground for the different temperaments from France, Spain, Italy and Germany to find a common musical language.

The resulting interpretations, which are rousing, fresh and soulful at the same time with their Mediterranean charm, inspire both listeners and spectators time and time again.
After a successful live performance on Radio France in Paris in 2018, they achieved further success when they were placed as finalists in the "Eugène Ysaÿe" chamber music competition in Liège. Last November, the quartet won 3rd prize at the international Anton Rubinstein Competition in Düsseldorf.

The young ensemble's first CD production in collaboration with the German label CPO is also an exciting prospect. For the first time, the complete string quartets of Felix Draeseke, a German composer and representative of the New German School as well as a contemporary of Franz Liszt, Richard Wagner and Johannes Brahms, will be recorded.
Influenced by the Austrian tradition, the quartet received further inspiration and impulses from various master classes and artists such as the Casals Quartet, Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet), William Coleman (Kuss Quartet), Milan Milojicic (Minetti Quartet), Lavard Skou-Larsen, Christoph Schlüren and others.
The ensemble's repertoire covers all genres, but focuses on undiscovered composers from past eras. The Constanze Quartet is a regular guest at the Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell in Salzburg and has been invited several times to perform and tour at festivals in Europe and America.
