Welcome to a carnivalesque evening full of lively rhythms and magnificent orchestration! The program opens with Dvořák's lively Carnival Overture, followed by two lively overtures by Johann Strauss. The program continues with Berlioz' fiery overture to the Roman Carnival, which captures the festive atmosphere of Rome. The young virtuoso Erik Maier then delights the audience with his violin and Paganini's breathtaking, lively and artistic variations "Carnival in Venice".
The crowning finale is Schumann's mighty Rhenish Symphony, which brings the concert to a brilliant finale with its grand orchestral sound.
