The Philharmonie Salzburg understands music-making in a holistic sense. As a collective of freelance, professional and highly committed artists, we contribute to society in a variety of ways through orchestral and chamber music concerts, education programs and training courses for companies. We are convinced that it is only possible to successfully meet the challenges of our time through a broad focus.
Orchestral music
It is the unique enthusiasm and dedication of the musicians that make the concerts of the Philharmonie Salzburg so special. Programmatically, it succeeds time and again in setting accents with unconventional programs, cross-over projects, performances of rarely performed works and the connection with other arts. The orchestra's own concert cycle is attended by 600 loyal subscribers. The Philharmonie Salzburg has also performed at the Salzburg Festival, the Salzburg New Year's Concert in the Grosses Festspielhaus, the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, the Zollverein Essen and the Brucknerhaus Linz.
Chamber music
The musicians of the Philharmonie Salzburg also play in chamber music groups, which creates an even better musical cohesion. We are happy to arrange our chamber music groups and ensembles for events, celebrations and parties.
Education
We see it as one of our central tasks to introduce the younger generation to classical music. Our musicians pass on their skills and knowledge to children, young people and adults who want to learn to play an orchestral instrument. The concerts for children, young people and families (organized by the Children's Festival) and workshop programmes for schools are not only an important contribution to securing the audience of the future, but also represent an investment in the musical and artistic education of young people.
Social
We see it as our duty as artists to take on social responsibility. We also want to share our passion for music with people who are disadvantaged due to social problems, age or illness. We therefore regularly perform in hospitals, old people's homes, hospices etc. to bring music to people who would otherwise not be able to experience music live.
Economy
The Philharmonie Salzburg offers a special kind of training program for companies. There are numerous success factors in the interaction of an orchestra that also apply to companies: Perfection, commitment, passion, teamwork, leadership quality, etc. In lectures, coaching sessions and role plays (with and without orchestra), parallels between orchestras and companies are highlighted and individual solutions are developed.
