"This is how music really amazes!" - Salzburg Window
The Children's Festival Week is aimed at schools and kindergartens. In age-specific workshops, two musicians from the Philharmonie Salzburg explain Bedřich Smetana's "The Moldau" to a school class or kindergarten group. The workshop involves dancing, singing and rapping. The program includes recognizing the Vltava melodies, singing the Vltava song or the Vltava blues and introducing the orchestra and the instruments. Each child is allowed to try out the two instruments of their workshop musicians under professional guidance. At the end of the workshop, each child receives a CD with "The Moldau" as well as the sung songs and audio samples for all orchestral instruments.
In an orchestral concert lasting just under an hour, the Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra performs "Die Moldau" by Smetana under the direction of conductor Elisabeth Fuchs . Also on stage is dancer and acrobat Jasmin Rituper, who interactively guides the children through the wild rapids from the source to the nymph dance.
