From ecstatic dancing to yearning melancholy to exuberant joie de vivre: klezmer music, an instrumental festive music, has its origins in the "shtetls" of the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe and captivates with an incredibly emotional range. Originally played to accompany Jewish festivals, klezmer is performed in this evening concert by solo clarinettist Filip Brezovšek and the Philharmonie Salzburg in a concertante setting.
