The NA+5 ensemble is made up of five young Austrian clarinettists who got to know each other during their clarinet studies at the MuK in Vienna with Alexander Neubauer. The clarinet quintet was founded to give them the opportunity to make music on a regular basis within the class. In addition, it is a special attraction to explore the possibilities of the clarinet ensemble beyond the usual quartet literature in arrangements for quintet. NA+5 has also enjoyed numerous successes at various competitions, most recently the 2nd International Franz Cibulka Competition, the Fidelio Competition 2019 and Musica Juventutis. The young ensemble is characterized by its unconventional repertoire and great curiosity in the music of contemporaries, which is expressed, for example, in the commissioning of compositions.
