The Salzburg Philharmonic interprets music in a holistic sense. As a collective of freelance, professional and highly committed artistic players. They contribute to the society in many different ways through orchestral and chamber music concerts. They offer educational programmes as well as training for business companies. We are persuaded, that it´s only possible to meet the challenges of our time by an open minded stance.
It is the unique enthusiasm and dedication of all musicians, which transform the concerts of Salzburg Philharmonic into something special. With unconventional programmes like Cross-Over-Projects, rarely performed works and the liaison between different arts, the orchestra succeeds in setting new courses. 600 loyal subscribers attend their own concert cycle. The Salzburg Philharmonic gives concerts at The Salzburger Festspiele, as well as in Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Zollverein Essen, and at the Brucknerhaus in Linz.
The musicians of the Salzburg Philharmonic also perform in chamber music ensembles and this supports a high team spirt. We gladly provide our chamber music ensembles for private and business events.
We address ourselves to the task of introducing classical music to the younger generation. Our musicians share their knowledge and skills with children, youngsters and grown ups, who want to learn to play an orchestral instrument. The Children’s Festival Salzburg organise concerts for children and families as well as training programmes for schools. This is not only an important part to recruit the audience of the future, but it is also an important investment in the artistic education of growing children.
For us as artists it is mandatory to take on social responsibility. We also share our passion for music with people, who are disabled or deprived, due to their social problems, age, or illness. We perform regularly in hospitals, homes for elderly, rest homes etc. to bring music to those who cannot attend live concerts.
The Salzburg Philharmonic offers special workshops for companies. The interplay of an orchestra show many similar ways concerning factors of success such as perfection, engagement, passion, team-work, leadership skills etc.. Lectures, coachings and role plays (with or without orchestra) show parallel tendencies between orchestras and companies. Based on this relationship we discuss innovative approaches and solution portfolios.
