The Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra celebrated its 25th anniversary yesterday, October 12, with a ceremony in the Salzburg Kulisse and a brilliant anniversary concert in the Grosses Festspielhaus. Founder and chief conductor Elisabeth Fuchs and her orchestra were awarded the provincial coat of arms by Governor Wilfried Haslauer and the city seal in gold by local councillor Florian Kreibich.

Extraordinary premiere to kick off the anniversary days of the Philharmonie Salzburg: The anniversary days of the Philharmonie Salzburg (October 5-19) were opened yesterday evening in the atmospheric cellar vault of the Müllner GAIA with an exciting thriller-music-dance reading.

Over the past two weeks, the orchestra musicians of the Philharmonie Salzburg have held 350 workshops for school classes and kindergarten groups on Sergei Prokofiev's musical fairy tale "Peter and the Wolf" in Zell am See and the provincial capital, opening the door to the world of classical music for many children. 8,500 children were able to pick up an orchestral instrument for the first time and try it out under professional guidance.

Over the past six weeks, almost eighty children and young people between the ages of seven and 18 have put their heart and soul into rehearsing a colorful potpourri of classical orchestral pieces as well as pop and film music with seven professional musicians from the Philharmonie Salzburg and Elisabeth Fuchs .

More than 4,000 schoolchildren and apprentices attended the Philharmonie Salzburg concerts in the Grosses Festspielhaus today. The apprentice and school concerts are specially designed for young people who have had little or no previous contact with classical music. The program was led by Elisabeth Fuchs, conductor and director of the Philharmonie Salzburg.

Last Friday, the four musicians of the ECHO KLASSIK award-winning quartet Salut Salon, together with the Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Elisabeth Fuchs , ignited a literal fireworks display on the stage of the Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg.

Under the direction of Elisabeth Fuchs , the choir and orchestra of the Philharmonie Salzburg performed what is probably the world's most famous requiem mass with great success in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum, which was completely sold out twice. Maria Bernius, Katrin Auzinger, Paul Schweinester and Johannes Wimmer shone and harmonized as the vocal soloists.

Last weekend, the Philharmonie Salzburg under conductor Elisabeth Fuchs celebrated the start of spring in the Great University Hall with the sparkling lightness of Mendelssohn's "Italian". Mendelssohn is said to have felt "euphoric and intoxicated" when he set off on his Italian travels in 1830.

25 years of the Philharmonie Salzburg - It has been around for a quarter of a century now - the Philharmonie Salzburg, which has been shaking up the cultural landscape of the city of Mozart since 1998 and has long been an integral part of Salzburg's arts scene. Founded in 1998 by the then 22-year-old Elisabeth Fuchs as the "Junge Philharmonie Salzburg" (until 2011), the orchestra initially only played two concerts a year.
