Management of the Philharmonie Salzburg & the Children's Festival

Thrilling, versatile, lively! The non-profit organizations Philharmonie Salzburg and Kinderfestspiele inspire more than 70,000 listeners a year in over 100 concerts and are advertising the position of Managing Director .

The tasks are divided into three areas of activity:
Accounting / Human Resources / Marketing

  • Preparation of annual budgets & quarterly reports
  • Economic management with responsibility for finance and accounting
      • Preparation of production budgets, invoicing and controlling
      • Overall financial administration (invoices, transfers, reminders)
      • Preparatory bookkeeping (bookkeeping & payroll accounting are outsourced)
      • Checking the cash books
      • Reporting & controlling of in-house ticketing
      • Contact with the tax consultant & the auditors of the associations
      • Balance sheet preparation together with the tax consultant & board of the associations
      • Contact with the tax office (tax for soloists from abroad, advertising tax, etc.)
      • Settlements of sponsoring associations
      • Clarification of legal issues
  • Office management with staff scheduling, time records, health insurance, vacation schedule, team meetings, company outings, training, registrations, sick leave,
  • Coordination of the marketing of own events together with the artistic director Elisabeth Fuchs, the marketing department and the press office

Subsidies / Sponsoring / Patrons

  • Applications, invoicing and administration of subsidies, as well as communication with subsidy agencies
  • Support & contract renewal of/with existing sponsors, advertisers, foundations
  • Acquisition of new donations, sponsors, advertisements, subsidies
  • Support & invitation VIPS & supporting friends of both associations
  • Contacts to politics and business
  • Application management and contract negotiations

Acquisition of guest concert appearances

  • Support & contract renewal of/with existing guest concert organizers
  • Acquisition of new performances for the entire orchestra, orchestra ensembles and children's festival productions at home and abroad

You should meet the following requirements:

  • Passion for music & music education, great interest in us and our events, enthusiasm for symphonic orchestral music and audience development
  • Business studies and/or several years of relevant commercial work experience
  • Industry-specific knowledge of the art and cultural sector desired
  • Professional experience in artist agencies, orchestra offices, event offices or similar. Facilities an advantage
  • Existing network in business and culture (national and international) an advantage
  • Experience in sponsoring and dealing with public sponsors is an advantage
  • Social skills, leadership skills, communication skills, ability to work in a team, desire to get stuck in, independence, entrepreneurial skills, negotiating and sales skills and management qualities
  • High resilience, willingness to undergo further professional and personal training, flexibility, above-average commitment, reliability and loyalty
  • Center of life in Salzburg city or surroundings
  • Willingness to work at weekends
  • First-class German and English language skills
  • Driving license B
