Salzmusique Ensemble of the Salzburg Philharmonic

Salzmusique consists of Slovenian musicians, trained soloists who studied at renowned universities in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The artists got to know each other as students through various chamber music and orchestral activities. The idea of a folk music ensemble arose from their shared interest in the traditional music of Eastern Europe, which allows them to express themselves in a very free, direct way, especially in the numerous improvised sections. The program includes musical works of different musical and cultural influences, from the famous overture "The Gypsy Baron" by Johann Strauss to traditional Yiddish pieces such as "Bukoviner Freilach" and "Heyser Bulgar".

Musicians: 7
Instruments: clarinet, two violins, viola, cello, double bass, piano
Genre: Viennese, Gypsy, Klezmer
