Salzburg Philharmonic gets its own rehearsal house

We are delighted to announce: On April 29/30, 2025, the Philharmonie Salzburg will move into the new rehearsal house in Salzburg-Nonntal.

Since its foundation in 1998, the Philharmonie Salzburg has always been on the move. To mark its 25th anniversary, however, the City of Salzburg, with the support of the state, has decided to purchase a property which, after some adaptation work, will be available as a rehearsal room, music archive and office for the Philharmonie Salzburg from spring 2025. The choir and the Children's & Youth Philharmonic Orchestra will also rehearse at Nonntaler Hauptstraße 39 C, the former Theater Metropolis, in future. "We would like to thank the decision-makers in the city and province from the bottom of our hearts!", enthuses founder and chief conductor Elisabeth Fuchs.

However, the new start is also a financial feat: The association has to pay for the entire inventory of the rehearsal room itself. The purchase of the urgently needed new timpani and marimba, worth a total of €50,000, is particularly challenging. We are therefore dependent on your donation! Thanks to your generous support, we have already managed to purchase a Bechstein grand piano, orchestra seating and music stands. Please continue to accompany us on our journey!

Every euro helps! Thank you for your support!
