Welcome to a carnivalesque evening full of lively rhythms and magnificent orchestration! Dvořák's lively Carnival Overture kicks things off, followed by two lively overtures by Johann Strauss. Solo violinist Hanan Santos gives Paganini's virtuoso Carnival of Venice a brilliant climax. The program continues with Berlioz' fiery overture to the Roman Carnival, which captures the festive atmosphere of Rome.
The crowning finale is Schumann's mighty Rhenish Symphony, which brings the concert to a brilliant finale with its grand orchestral sound.
