Welcome to the Carnival of the Animals, the celebration of life! When the world of musicians and animals meet, no stone is left unturned! Whether lions or chickens, donkeys or turtles, everyone has made an appearance; even fossils stand up again. Sing, dance and guess along with us!

Composer Camille Saint-Saëns delights the whole family with this classical music hit. And he didn't even want to see the sheet music published during his lifetime! In 1886, he wrote down the suite for fun, incidentally in a small village in Austria. Saint-Saëns was worried about his reputation as a "serious" composer, which is why the Carnival of the Animals was not published until 1922. Little did he know that this work would bring him more worldwide fame than any other.
Since then, generations of children and adults alike have been bowled over by Saint-Saëns' original way of musicalizing animal calls. He has also hidden all kinds of ironic Easter eggs for classical music freaks: He quotes Berlioz in the elephant, for example, and Rossini in the fossils.
Have fun at this party!
