Zsuzsanna Kiss, violinist, singer, choir director and music teacher, was born in Hungary and has lived in Salzburg for over 20 years. Her first musical impressions - Hungarian folk music - come from her homeland, Oroshaza and Szentendre. She started learning the piano, recorder and violin at the age of 8. She had her first music lessons in her hometown Szentendre, in the "Vujicsics Tihamer" music school. In the years 1994-1999 she studied violin as her main subject at the Bela Bartok Conservatory in Budapest, began her vocal training and took lessons in choir conducting. In 1999, one of her childhood dreams came true when she was able to continue her musical studies in Salzburg, the beautiful city of Mozart, after graduating from high school. In 2008, she obtained her master's degree in violin performance with a specialization in chamber music. She also successfully completed a bachelor's degree (instrumental and vocal pedagogy) in classical violin with a focus on jazz and popular music (voice and violin). She has been working as a freelance musician, singer and music teacher since 2009.
She has conducted five mixed choirs in the past 10 years, this year she is celebrating her 15th anniversary with her jazz ensemble "Trio Exquisit", she plays and sings with many music groups in various formations, from voice/violin-piano duo to string quartet to symphonic orchestra (Austria/Philharmonie Salzburg, Franz Lehar Orchestra, in Germany/Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra and with various project orchestras as tutti violinist and concertmaster). Since 2005 she has been a co-founder, concertmaster and soloist with the Austria Festival Symphony Orchestra.
She has been working as a music teacher for 20 years. She gave her first music lessons in Hungary in the subjects violin, string ensemble, solfeggio, music theory and music history. In the last 10 years she has been able to accompany her violin and singing students (in various music and singing schools in Austria and Germany, at workshops and private lessons) to renowned competitions, successful auditions and auditions for admissions to music academies and conservatories in Germany, England and France.
In 2022, she was awarded the bronze medal of merit by the Salzburg Choir Association for her outstanding musical achievements in the choral world.
From fall 2022, she will be teaching violin at the music school in Berchtesgaden.
