Funny Christmas (press release dated December 12, 2025)

A wild ride through Bavarian humor, comedy classics, and Christmas (fairy tale) music awaited the audience at the five shows of the Advent program "Monika Gruber Symphonic." Sometimes as a schnapps-drinking angel, sometimes as a teasing wife in a time-lapse of marriage, "die Gruaberin" elicited loud laughter from the audience from the very first minute.

That was the Children's Festival Week 2025 (press release from 02.07.2025)

Around 6,050 children flocked to Hall 2 of the Exhibition Center between 23 June and 2 July to listen to the musical story of Bedřich Smetana's "The Moldau". They were joined by actor Frederic Böhle, conductor Elisabeth Fuchs and acrobat Jasmin Rituper, who guided the elementary and kindergarten children through the story with verve and ease.

The time has finally come: after a two-year break, the ZEIG DEIN TALENT talent contest organized by the Salzburg Children's Festival and the Philharmonie Salzburg is back - and the response is huge! From a total of 153 registrations and video submissions (with 282 young artists), 80 acts were invited to the live audition at the new Philharmonie Salzburg.

Bright start to the Klassik:Sommer 2025 in Bad Hofgastein (press release from 25.05.2025)

On Friday, May 23, 2025, the Philharmonie Salzburg opened the Klassik:Sommer in Bad Hofgastein for the eighth time as "orchestra in residence" with an extraordinary and moving concert experience. Around 400 guests experienced a top-class opening concert in the acoustically brilliant Kursaal, which offered classical masterpieces by Mozart and Beethoven as well as a glimpse into the musical future.

Beatlemania in the sold-out Festspielhaus (press release from 10.05.2025)

"All You Need Is Love" - the title of the five-part concert series by the Philharmonie Salzburg was the program in the Great Festival Hall, which was filled to the last seat: peace and love for a better world is the message of many of the greatest world hits by the British beat, rock and pop band The Beatles. Chief conductor Elisabeth Fuchs opened the evening with a minute's silence of gratitude for 80 years of peace in Austria.

As has been reported in many media outlets, the renowned Salzburg pianist, singer and composer Sabina Hank has run into financial difficulties. In order to help her musician friend in these difficult times, Elisabeth Fuchs and the Philharmonie Salzburg have spontaneously decided to organize a fundraising concert entitled "SABINA HANK SYMPHONIC" in the Great University Hall on Sunday, 16 November 2025. The net proceeds will go directly to the artist.

The Children's & Youth Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Elisabeth Fuchs gave its big summer concert in the Salzburgarena on Friday evening in front of over 600 visitors. The youth orchestra for 7 to 18-year-olds showed once again that the fun of making music together can lead to musical excellence. A special highlight was the joint performance with the Salzburg Philharmonic Choir. The continuation of this music education project is not guaranteed from 2026.

Good news for the Philharmonie Salzburg's music education projects at the start of the Children's Festival Week (press release from 19.06.2024)

350 workshops and 24 orchestral concerts for 3 to 12-year-olds will be held on Antonio Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" from today until July 3. Marlene Engelhorn's "Good Council for Redistribution" supports the Children's Festival and the Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra. With this financial contribution, the Council wishes to express its appreciation for the initiatives and commitment of the two associations.
